Shopping at Bangbao Bay

Visiting Bang Bao Bay is always been a pleasure. A visitor can find some of the best places for shopping there. One can visit this place on the route of almost all visitors to Koh Chang. However, shop houses, dive schools, seafood restaurants, tacky souvenir shops and a 7-eleven minimart, and some of the excellent shopping places have pretty much used by the people of Bangbao Bay.

The well-known fishing village Baan Bang Bao is constructed on stakes far out into the bay and has turn out to be famous for popular shopping malls and also for attractions. Some of the most famous shopping malls offer a rich selection of quality and imported items from every part of the World and small shops sell refreshments or souvenirs. Also, there are various diving schools are situated, like the dive centre BB DIVERS. This village has some clinics and just outside on the road is the school and Wat Bang Bao which is known as the local temple.

One can visit every shopping mall there and will need time for browsing the shelves of ‘Made in China’ seashell souvenirs, t-shirts and wooden trinkets that are for sale. (A person would love buying the most favourable t-shirt had the words ‘Koh Chang, Thailand’ with the image of a panda. There possibly are some mammals hiding unexplored in the jungle. Other than the pandas are forcing it a bit.) The greatest of the souvenir shops is Bangbao Shop, situated on the right almost 10 metres away from the beginning of the pier; they are dealing with unique Koh Chang t-shirts, unlike some other vendors that sell the similar stuff as one another.

If a person is on a tour of Bangbao bay for shopping and having a problem of budget then, he should go for snack or fruit shake at one of the well-known nice cafes that are starting to shoot up along the dock. But, if anyone is travelling as part of an already prepared tour, whoseentire purpose for visiting the island is to spend his lots of time in purchasing the clothes and also visited almost every shopping mall.

Avoid Bangbao Bay at 9am and 5pm when all the snorkelling and dive tour boats are arriving and leaving and also lunch period at weekends when minivans of vacationing Thai travellers arrive for lunch. Sometimes it can be deadly quiet.More or less a kilometre southeast is a main shopping centre, which offers some of the most beautiful crockery items for the ladies. Most of the ladies would love buying things from here. Immediately after the point of view there is a lovely sandy beach situated (Haad Klong Kloi) where just some bungalow resorts are situated. The beaches are some about 100 metres long and a person will just find a small restaurant, some women who would provide traditional Thai massage and some fruit-bars with sun chairs.

Getting to Bang Bao can be bother sometimes if a person has his personal transport. The choices are to catch-up with the unequal pick-up hoof or taxi it from Lonely Beach – which is at a distance of around 4km walk. 4km isn’t too far but when you have so many items with you which you have purchased from the shopping malls it becomes difficult and the Thai sun and 4km feels like 40km.So, a person should need to visit this place with his own vehicle if he is planning a shopping tour of Bangbao Bay. Visit this place once in a life for purchasing your most favourite thing here and you’ll never forget the journey.
