Koh Lao Ya is an island located just out of Salakphet Bay at the southern portion of Koh Chang Island. The islands of Koh Lao Ya and Koh Lao Klang are mistakenly identified as one island because they are connected by a wooden footbridge. In reality they are distinct and different two islands. The connecting wooden footbridge existed because these two islands are privately owned. The island of Koh Lao Ya is bigger than Koh Kao Klang Island. It is home to Lao Ya Resort.
Koh Lao Ya Island is famous of its white sandy beaches with long beach frontlines stretching from the pier in the northeast part of the island to its southeastern tip. The natural setting gives tourists a beautiful venue to relax while enjoying sunbathing or simply taking comfort while laying your back on the couch facing the crystal clear water of the surrounding the entire island.
