Thailand is a tropical paradise massively blessed by the beautiful ocean. The great beaches and the spellbinding islands are enough to drive millions of tourists to get a glimpse and experience the wonders that this paradise has to offer. However, if your trip is not backed up by proper research or guidance, your tropical tour might turn out to be unsatisfactory. This is completely because of the fact that there are plenty of things to see and do at this place.
But not everything is for everybody. Just like Koh Chan, which you might go for expecting a beach paradise and find that it is truly something else. It is, in fact, the absence of a beautiful beach and the presence of the rocky surface all around that makes this island tick.
Koh Chan is a rocky abode. It is surrounded by steep rocky surface which makes it dangerous for boats to come ashore. Even then, there are a few areas where you can pull up in your kayaks as there are narrow natural parking spaces that form part of the shoreline of this island. Therefore, this island is of no interest at all for the average beach lover and is everything for the adventurer, as Koh Chan is surrounded by vantage points to exercise and explore your diving capabilities. The steep cliffs form the best places to take off on a diving spree. The south-east part of the island provides the best place for diving with its reefs and corals and the nice deep waters that form clear pathways for the divers to explore with each dive into the ocean. The southern part of Koh Chan is also a wonderful place for snorkeling. An added attraction is the sure sight of reef sharks around the waters and the reefs.
