Ao Tan Khu beach of Koh Mak

Ao Tan Khu beach is a sandy beach that is located in the north eastern side of Koh Mak. It is among the most notable beaches that are found on Koh Mak Island. Unlike many sandy beaches that are hosted by Koh Mak island, this sandy beach does not have white sands. Rather, it has a pool of brow sands which tends to be darker in color. The length of the beach is only about 1.5 km. however, although it is fairly smaller compared to other beaches on the island; it still manages to attract a lot of tourists. The time of the year when its tourism activities comes to light is during the public holidays.

The beach may not have numerous activities for a tourist to engage in. However, its uniqueness compared to the other beaches on the island is enough to put you into the mood of staying. The most common activities on the beach are swimming and relaxing in the brown sands. It is also a perfect place for viewing the rising and setting of the sun. You can enjoy the swimming activities as well as lying in the brown sands based on the fact that the beach is usually sparsely populated until the public holidays have begun. However, not many people can be found swimming in the waters of this beach.

You can also take walks by the beach with a loved one or by yourself to enjoy the cool breeze from the sea when it is really hot. Although the beach is fairly small, it has numerous hotels and resorts of varying sizes and standards. As a result, accommodation on the beach is not hard to come by. This is also attributed to the small population of tourists that roam the beach prior to the onset of the public holidays.
