More Secluded Relaxation in Koh Chang
Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.
Koh Chang’s Klong Son Beach, natively known as Had Klong Son, is situation on the northern part of Thailand’s favorite tourist island and it resembles a very scenic bay at the uppermost region of the island.
As a natural extension of the southern part of the island, the north’s Klong Son Beach is just as beautiful, although not as extensively long as its 2.5 kilometre southern counterpart, it embodies more of those white inviting beaches, but resembles a little less of the tropical side of things, with coconut trees making up the bulk of the flora closest to the pristinely blue, clear sea waters.
This part of the isand is a whole lot more reclusive, offering a true sense of exclusivity, as there are stretches of the beach where tourists can really enjoy a lot of space for themselves.
The natural beach bathing and sea swimming spots are sectioned off by the forces of nature, with the Chang Noi part of the beach divided into two parts by a river and the two northern beaches situated closer together. That’s what accounts for regulars designating favorite spots for their beach frequents, making even the newest of tourists feel right at home.
The sheer size of the beach’s banks is more evident during the low tides, in seasons complementary to the monsoon season and this is the best time for holiday makers to come in and have a stay, ladled with that tropical feeling, which gives this northern side of the mountains its fair share of Koh Chang allure.
As is somewhat of a norm in Koh Chang, the driving force of the community residing in Klong Son, is their fishermen. Sea food is big in the inner land dining spots where tourists can enjoy a variety of exotic Thai dishes, with a hint of western influence of varying degrees.
