Klong Nonsi Temple: Koh Chang

After hectic working life, when yearly holidays comes , people who loves visiting new places, learning about new culture, travelling from one place to another place within the country or going out side the country, starts making their planes to make these holidays pleasurable and memorable. To make mind fresh, it is necessary keep visiting other and new places time to time. Meeting with new people always increase your knowledge. For the change of mind and making it fresh, you select the places according to your interest and financial approach. You need to visit temples of Koh Chang. Wat Khlong Nonsi occupies an area of around 680 sq. kilometers. There are 4 islands and Wat Khlong Nonsi is of significant importance. Other islands are rich with beauty of Koh Ngam, Koh Klum, Koh Rung, Koh Lao Ya, etc.

 

Some people spice up holidays with going in live bars, music concerts, in night clubs, going on long drive, food lovers choose to go in restaurants situated at different location. Its all depend upon a person’s taste. Some people like spending time at some peaceful places, going to islands, like to stay near to nature, like beaching, waterfalls. Wat Khlong Nonsi is the most visiting temple area of KOH CHANG. The Battle of Koh Chang took place at this temple on 17 January 1941 during the Franco-Thai War and resulted in a decisive victory by the French over the Royal Thai Navy. In the end, THAILAND lost with a heavy damage. After the war, a peace negotiation was done and then the war ended. Still On January 17th each year, a tribute is given to the people who lost their lives in the war. So KO CHANG also got the fame due to this battle area besides the beautiful and historic temples as well. If you are fan of these types of temples, you, need to visit it for sure.

 

Koh chang is the Thailand’s third largest Island, in Trat Province. Koh chang’s waterfall ‘Wat Khlong Nonsi’ has become visitor’s most loving places. Koh chang’s other two main waterfalls Klong plu on the west coast and Than Mayom on the east coast need charges as enterance fee of National Park but there are some others falls that can be visited easily with no charges. Wat Klong Nonsi waterfall is minor waterfall in the northeast zone of the Island. The roads to the areas lies three kilometres from Baan Daab Mai ( village) or three kilometres from the National Park Office .It is in small in sized but its peaceful, natural environment will attracts too much and pursue you to stay there for long time period. The good thing about this place is that there you can easily find hunts, hotel on good rating and bungalows. Variety of food there will water mouth but will also watch your pocket. Visitors can also feed crocodiles and enjoy their wrestling. From May to November it is and an ideal place for visitors.

Short description:

Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.

Short description:

Short description:

Situated on the somewhat less glamorous, northern side of the Koh Chang Island, Klong Prao isn’t all that much of tourist destination, especially for those who are in need of a true holiday experience of the exotic kind.

Short description:

Also known as Kai Bae Beach, this is the spot to catch a great sunset! A few small shops and food stalls are along the beach, a good spot to chill out away from the crowds at White Sands Beach.

Bangbao Bay is good for:

Short description:

A well-sheltered bay with a small and quiet beach. It is a fishing community where residents still live in houses built on stilts and are connected by wooden bridges. There are a growing number of tourist shops, scuba dive outlets and seafood restaurants offering a good selection of seafood.

Salak Khok Bay is good for:

Short description:

There aren’t so much attraction in Salak Kok, but tourists can Kayak among the mangroves. Salak Kok Bay still has a fishing community that doesn’t change so much in many years, a great place to see the real traditional Thai community.
