The Battle of Koh Chang took place at this temple on 17 January 1941 during the Franco-Thai War and resulted in a decisive victory by the French over the Royal Thai Navy. In the end, THAILAND lost with a heavy damage. After the war, a peace negotiation was done and then the war ended. Still On January 17th each year, a tribute is given to the people who lost their lives in the war. Koh chang is the Thailand’s third largest Island, in Trat Province. Koh chang’s waterfall ‘Wat Khlong Nonsi’ has become visitor’s most loving places. Koh chang’s other two main waterfalls Klong plu on the west coast and Than Mayom on the east coast need charges as enterance fee of National Park but there are some others falls that can be visited easily with no charges. Wat Klong Nonsi waterfall is minor waterfall in the northeast zone of the Island. Visitors can also feed crocodiles and enjoy their wrestling. From May to November it is and an ideal place for visitors.
