Wat bangbao is a temple located opposite to the Bangbao School opposite the turning to the Bangbao fishing village. Within the temple area is a monk complex. The other fishing communities there include koh chang and klong son villages and have their own small temple called "wat". As compared to the other temples present in the ko chang island, this is least visited by the tourists. No doubt, it has a historic value too but it is less visited because it is less noticed. Few people know about it. It may also be a bit less spectacular unlike the other temples. It is present by the side of the main road.
