Koh Chang is one of the largest islands in Thailand. Its name, which means an elephant island, originated from its shape. Thus, this name does not mean that there are indigenous elephants in the island. Many people like visiting the island outside monsoon season. This runs from June all the way to September. During this season, the sea is clear and warm. Beaches are sandy and white. The interiors of the island are filled with picturesque mountains and evergreen forests.


Many people from different parts of the world have made Koh Chang their vacation destination. This is due to the wide range of attractions found in this island. They include wildlife such as snakes, birds and elephants. There are also a number of activities that can be done in this island. Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.
