What Do Make Koh Chang Popular?

Sea kayak can be real fun. On a given day you will not be surprise to find how many kayaks are out on sail across the sea.  It is a way to relax and enjoy the ambience and the sea at once in your own phase without any worry in the world.  It is easy to rent a kayak long the cost.  The professional kayakers are there to help you with your kayak, attire, routes maps and provide lessons if necessary.  This is one of the greatest ways to explore the small islands on your own. Kayak expeditions are run on daily basis off the west coast of the island and multi day trips are off southern coast of Koh Chang island.


After a long day at the sea, you would love to settle in for less tensed but more rewarding recreation that is Thai cooking.  Thai cuisines are known for their aromatic, spicy coconut enriched tastes.  Be is sweet or savoury they sure will let your palette melt.  There are three cooking schools that teach to cook Thai cuisines.  You can register at one and learn the little secret behind the mouth watering dishes. In addition to these you can spend half-a-day tour at the war memorial in the south for the island. This can be included as part of the trekking tour or you can drive / ride up to it. It is a tell tale of the Koh Chang’s history as memorials it is set up to commemorate a sea battle with France in 1941. The Thais were able to drive off the French but 36 Thai sailors died in the process; the monument is to remember their sacrifice.

Short description:

Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.

Short description:

Koh Chang's most famous stretch of sand, at over 2km long there's certainly room for everyone! Lined with bungalows, food stalls and shops this is one of the best beaches in all of Thailand.

Short description:

Situated on the somewhat less glamorous, northern side of the Koh Chang Island, Klong Prao isn’t all that much of tourist destination, especially for those who are in need of a true holiday experience of the exotic kind.

Short description:

Also known as Kai Bae Beach, this is the spot to catch a great sunset! A few small shops and food stalls are along the beach, a good spot to chill out away from the crowds at White Sands Beach.

A well-sheltered bay with a small and quiet beach. It is a fishing community where residents still live in houses built on stilts and are connected by wooden bridges. There are a growing number of tourist shops, scuba dive outlets and seafood restaurants offering a good selection of seafood.

Short description:

There aren’t so much attraction in Salak Kok, but tourists can Kayak among the mangroves. Salak Kok Bay still has a fishing community that doesn’t change so much in many years, a great place to see the real traditional Thai community.
