Koh Chang Island and How to Reach There?

Koh Chang is located in Trat Province, Thailand. It is situated on the Gulf of Thailand's eastern seaboard, which is almost 310 km from Bangkok and close to the border with Cambodia. It is the third largest island in country, and the biggest island in the land of Mu Ko Chang National Park. The name means Elephant Island, which comes up with the shape of elephant of its headland, even though elephants are not local to the island. Currently, there are 8 or 9 villages on this island. It is a hilly island, with Khao Salak Phet being the biggest peak at 743 meters. The island is well-known for various waterfalls, rainforests and thriving coral reefs. The island has some parts of around 220 square kilometers.


A bit further to the south depends on Koh Klum. The 4 island cruise will pass about this island daily. Comes to this island the Thai and French navies struggled a battle, and off the island there dependents on a wreck of a battlewagon. In link with the island are some better snorkeling, fishing and diving areas which are deep laying multi-coloured coral establishments may be seen by scuba divers.


Moreover to the South, and able to be seen from these 4 island cruise, placed the island of Koh Wai. There are various resorts on this island, even though there are no roads. The resorts take guests off boats named KonTiki at piers that placed close to the resorts. The wonderful white sand beaches are on Koh Chang, and a person can swim for short time from these beaches to beautiful tropical and corals fish may be seen. Koh Wai is a better place for a day trip, as accommodation and food can be served from the resorts that located on the beaches.

Klong Son Beach is good for:

Short description:

Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.

Short description:

Koh Chang's most famous stretch of sand, at over 2km long there's certainly room for everyone! Lined with bungalows, food stalls and shops this is one of the best beaches in all of Thailand.

Situated on the somewhat less glamorous, northern side of the Koh Chang Island, Klong Prao isn’t all that much of tourist destination, especially for those who are in need of a true holiday experience of the exotic kind.

Short description:

Also known as Kai Bae Beach, this is the spot to catch a great sunset! A few small shops and food stalls are along the beach, a good spot to chill out away from the crowds at White Sands Beach.

A well-sheltered bay with a small and quiet beach. It is a fishing community where residents still live in houses built on stilts and are connected by wooden bridges. There are a growing number of tourist shops, scuba dive outlets and seafood restaurants offering a good selection of seafood.

Short description:

There aren’t so much attraction in Salak Kok, but tourists can Kayak among the mangroves. Salak Kok Bay still has a fishing community that doesn’t change so much in many years, a great place to see the real traditional Thai community.
