Diving in Koh Chang

Koh Chang is one of Thailand's most beautiful islands with long white sandy beaches, most half deserted. The "discovery" of the island as a tourist destination since 2000 has brought on a large amount of rapid development, and while still far quieter than places like Phuket or Ko Samui, it's probably better to go now than later. Regarding services and activities specifically aimed at tourists prices have reached such a level that the islanders are pricing themselves out of the market when compared to the other islands. Koh Chang is a real tropical get-away.

The main attractions are the great beaches and the unspoiled natural beauty. You can just chill out or there are many activities to enjoy, such as jungle trekking, elephant riding, mountain biking, fishing and of course some great diving and snorkeling. Scuba diving in the Koh Chang archipelago offers both new and experienced divers the opportunity to combine a great beach holiday in Thailand with an underwater adventure! If you're a little bit curious about what the two-thirds of planet earth that lies underwater looks like, there are only two ways you are ever going to satisfy your inquiring mind, either evolve at a rather rapid pace and grow gills or learn to dive.

Scuba Zone is the only tec diving facility on Koh Chang.  Diving is best between October and May when the seas are usually calm and the visibility good. Popular sites include seamounts to the west of Koh Chang and other deeper diving sites can be found further to the south. Sites around the tiny island of Ko Rung, about 1.5 hours south of Koh Chang, rank as some of the best. Though much of the water is relatively shallow the area's pristine coral reefs, stone knolls and often crystal clear water are a magnet for divers and snorkelers alike. In this Island all mixes of Enriched Air to 100% and helium gases are available for trimix diving. Here many experienced club and company are present to help you for your fantastic and enjoyable Scuba diving. Here you also get a good mixture of local culture, international know-how and talented, multilingual yet fun individuals makes your scuba dive safe and memorable.
