Diving Places in Koh Chang

There are various wonderful snorkeling and diving places in the national park of Koh Chang. Koh Chang is currently developing into an important destination for diving with many dive outfits on this island.  The marine national park of Koh Chang has various dives ranging from Coral pinnacles, to shallow coral reefs and deep wrecks. Visibility is around 35 or 45 meters in peak season. The better time to dive is in between Oct and May, but in the seasons of rain there are almost calm days when the diving is pretty good.


Around Koh Rang in the south a person may be able to look for few most pristine reefs in Thailand, with some most staghorn corals and table corals fringing around several small islands there. These reefs also affirm some better variety of marine life like trigger fish, sting rays, moray eels and turtles. Big barracuda, king mackerel and trevelly also feed near to the reefs. Whale sharks are almost the daily visitors to the reefs in the north and they can be observed in every part throughout high season.


For technical and advanced divers every school run trips to some newly discovered sites for wrecking ranging from 45 to 75 meters. Like this, they one day discovered scuba diving which also has a course costs almost 4,500 baht and also courses of PADI open Water are almost 14,500. For well-qualified divers the cost for daily diving is almost 2,500 and 3,000 which is totally based on the diving site and also school.

Klong Son Beach is good for:

Short description:

Klong Son beach (or Had Klong Son) is located on the north of Koh Chang. Nice bay at the very top of the island. Pure white sand stretch of beach, shaded with coconut trees. Klong Son gets very low numbers of visitors with the bulk of the backpackers and tourists alike speeding south enroute to Koh Chang's finer and more popular stretches of sand.

Short description:

Koh Chang's most famous stretch of sand, at over 2km long there's certainly room for everyone! Lined with bungalows, food stalls and shops this is one of the best beaches in all of Thailand.

Short description:

Situated on the somewhat less glamorous, northern side of the Koh Chang Island, Klong Prao isn’t all that much of tourist destination, especially for those who are in need of a true holiday experience of the exotic kind.

Short description:

Also known as Kai Bae Beach, this is the spot to catch a great sunset! A few small shops and food stalls are along the beach, a good spot to chill out away from the crowds at White Sands Beach.

Short description:

A well-sheltered bay with a small and quiet beach. It is a fishing community where residents still live in houses built on stilts and are connected by wooden bridges. There are a growing number of tourist shops, scuba dive outlets and seafood restaurants offering a good selection of seafood.

Short description:

There aren’t so much attraction in Salak Kok, but tourists can Kayak among the mangroves. Salak Kok Bay still has a fishing community that doesn’t change so much in many years, a great place to see the real traditional Thai community.
